- What is known about the existing structure?
- What is known about electrical, plumbing, drainage and HVAC systems?
- Which defects are confirmed and which are only suspected?
- Are there planning/approval implications?
- What should be repaired versus replaced?
- What is the intended end-use after renovation?
- What temporary works or phasing might be required?
- What is the budget contingency for unknown conditions?
- What does the building need to perform better after the work?
