UDO Residence

The brief
A 4-bedroom duplex with basement and BQ on a 500 sqm site, designed around a difficult front-to-back level difference.
The challenge
Rather than treating the site fall as a constraint, the design used the level change to introduce a basement level while preserving the main residential programme above.
The response
The planning strategy turns the site’s vertical difference into usable building volume. Historic project imagery documents construction and the completed residence; current publication is restricted to exterior views.
The result
A site-responsive residential scheme in which level change becomes part of the architectural strategy.
The thinking behind the project
The project shows how topography can become programme. Instead of spending the design effort fighting the site, the level difference is used to create useful volume and a more responsive section.
